Dr. Anwar Nasim is an Internationally known Geneticist has played a significant role in introducing Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering in Pakistan. On his recommendations, National Institute for Biotechnology and Genetic Engineering, Faisalabad was established which is today recognized as the leading national research institute in this area and is the national focal point for International Centre for Genetic Engineering and Biotechnology.
Dr. Fatima Z. Basha, an eminent scientist, has contributed over 40,000 US dollars in the form of scientific equipment for setting up a laboratory in HEJ Research Institute of Chemistry, Karachi on drug receptor interactions. It is said that this is the only type of laboratory in Asia. She has also arranged training course for a period of three months for a Pakistani Scientist at Abbott Laboratories, Chicago. She carried out a research programme involving the faculty and research students of the Institute in the area of mechanical synthesis / synthesis of Arizonin and also established collaborative programme between Abbott Labs. and the Institute related to the screening of different natural and synthetic compounds for their biological activity.
Dr. Inayatullah H. Kathio, a Veterinarian, donated equipment worth 60,000 US dollars to Sindh Agriculture University, Jamshoro including blood analysis machine, ultra sound machine and other operation and surgical instruments. He conducted a training course / workshop on orthopedic ophthalmic problem, small tissue surgery in small / large animals and diagnosis of pathologic problem through the use of ultra sound technique. He also arranged services of a lecturer whose salary for one year was paid by Dr. Kathio himself.
Dr. Abdul Shakoor, Engineering Geologist, conducted 4 week National Training Course on 'Evaluation of Rock as Construction Material' at Institute of Geology, University of the Punjab which was attended by 95 professionals from Road Research Laboratory, Building Research Laboratory, NESPAK, PCSIR, Atomic Energy (Mineral Centre), Geological Survey of Pakistan, SEMENCE (a Multinational Company), Central Materials Testing Lab (CMTL) including students and faculty members of the Institute of Geology, University of the Punjab, Lahore. This course was unique in its nature. The latest techniques / knowledge imparted to the participants is now being applied in the respective organizations.
Dr. Surraiya Rasheed, specialist in Cancer / AIDS / Viruses, conducted 12 workshops / seminars on 'Molecular Techniques and Molecular Biology of Cancer' at Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lahore which were participated by 50 - 60 doctors and scientists from various medical institutions. In addition, she established 7 collaborative research programmes / facilities between her laboratory and Shaukat Khanum Memorial Cancer Hospital and Research Centre, Lahore. She also delivered seminars / workshops in other institutes of Pakistan which were attended by more than 700 professionals.
Mr. Irshad A. Rana, specialist in Metallurgical Engineering and Smelter Technology reviewed various components of Saindak Metals Project, Quetta and advised an action plan on organizational, technical, erection and commissioning (start up) aspects. He suggested modifications and improvements for erection of the machinery and trials testing of various units which were incorporated in the basic design. His visit was extremely useful / productive and saved annual loss of millions of US dollars in the shape of major risks of security, excessive power consumption and low metal recoveries.
Consequent upon recommendation by Central Selection Board (CSB) and approval by Prime Minister, Pakistan Mr. HameedUllah Khan been promoted to the post of Director General (BPS-20), National Talent Pool under Ministry of Education and Trainings. He has taken up his responsibilities as Director General National Talent Pool on May 06 2013.

Briefing to Honourable Prime Minister, AJK was held on 19th March 2013 at 11:30 AM in Kashmir house Islamabad. Director General NTP gave detail briefing to the house about the working of PPQP/NTP. The briefing session attended by Executive Director PIMS, Minister for Health AJK, DG Health AJK, and other prestige guests.
Prime Minister AJK has loaded expertise of Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Ranjha and approved in principle, his plan of action for ensuring 100% free Medicine Cover to people in AJK. A comprehensive meeting shall be chaired by PM AJK in Health Complex H-9 on 22 March 2013.

Dr. Ali Musani, Assistant Professor Deptt of Medicine & Pediatrics/Director, Lung Nodule Clinic and International Pulmonology Fellowship Program, USA will provide comprehensive trainings to Military Hospital Rawalpindi and other Institutions in Pakistan. Dr. Musani will introduce LUNGS STENT Technology, first time in the History of Pakistan.
The 5th programme management committee (PMC) meeting was held under the chairmanship of secretary MET, dated 11th March 2013 in the committee Room C-Block, Pak Secretariat Islamabad. The meeting was attended by the vice chancellor head of department of various universities i.e DOW University Karachi, Bahria University, LCWU, NUST, Agricultural University, Khyber Medical College etc and other institution. Total 22 cases of HQOPs presented in the PMC meeting, out of which 18 cases approved by the committee.

Director General, Social Sector (Projects) Mr.Fazal Hakeem Khattak chaired the meeting at PPMI dated 30th January 2013. Director General, NTP gave detail briefing about the excellent performance of PPQP project. Director General, social sector (projects) desired that scope of this project is comprehensive
and need propagation at appropriate level. He suggested that D.G, NTP will disseminate the objectives, achievements and possible avenue of expertise of HQoPs to circulation and even media.
Federal Minister MET Sheikh Waqas Akram approved concept of Electronic Employment Exchange and directed DG, NTP Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Ranjha to put up draft within a week. He also announced Honourarium for one month pay for excellent performance of some officers including DG Dr. Fayyaz Ahmed Ranjha. Minister MET asked DG to represent Pakistan in the upcoming International conference of WAPES at Washington on 20 Feb. Minister MET further directed to get success stories of expatriates printed on prescribed format. He desired to achieve objectives of PPQP as conceived by Honorable President. He emphasized upon formulation of advise on policy issues and tecnical cross cutting matters for getting approval of President. 10th International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FITâ€™ 12) in collaboration with COMSATS Institute of Information Technology, CIIT, is underway at Islamabad Pakistan. 22 international speakers are presenting their papers. PPQP team also participating in the event for awareness and marketing.

International Forensic Sciences Conference is in progress at Sareena Hotel Islamabad. National Talent Pool (PPQP) has celebrated with Forensic peoples (Organizers) to aware the working of NTP (PPQP) and for proper propagation, NTP (PPQP) host a market place / Stall for participant. Director General NTP will be the speaker to address the role of Pakistani Talents in advancement of Forensic Sciences.
The Governor Sindh has desired to host a seminar at governor house to apprise the vice chancellors of excellent initiative of president of Pakistan. The conference shall be chaired by chancellors of public and private sector universities of province. The vice chancellors / deans of various faculties shall have free interaction with the technical team of PPQP, after presentation by the DG NTP.

Senate committee on Ministry of Education and Training held a meeting on 30th July 2012 in the committee room of Ministry of Education and Training for deliberations on National Internship Program (NIP). Mr. Qamar Zaman Ch, Sectary, Ministry of Education and Training presented details and replied to queries raised by members.
The Cabinet Division issued a notification for change of the name of Ministry as "Ministry of Education and Training".
Sheikh Waqas Akram, Federal Minister, Ministry of E&T has addressed the head of attached departments and emphasized upon them to gear-up utilization of medium term budget estimates to achieve desired goals. He also emphasized upon productive activities and update achievements laid down in the scope of work and mandate of Ministry of E&T.
